Luxury Pedicab Tours?

Ok, ‘luxury’ is a strong word for a pedicab ride. I’m not going to lather you in Central Park mud and massage your feet while I tell you you’re “beautiful”.  I do, however, offer a combination of background, experience (mine) and experiences (yours) that no one else does.

  • I physically pedal you like the royalty you are. I have no secret motor and what better way to feel like a 16th Century monarch than to have some poor serf struggle so you don’t have too? 99.5% of trikes in NYC have powerful and semi-legal motors.  Where is the fun in that?  A pedicab experience is incomplete if you don’t worry your driver might collapse. In actuality, I’m in great shape and I give tours of Central Park for extra money and exercise.  You’re doing my heart and BMI a favor.
  • I am a licensed sight-seeing guide.  I took a three hour test given by the City and got over 120 out of 150 to get a star next to my name. I could work on a sightseeing bus but then I’d probably want to jump in front of that bus.  I pride myself on offering interesting but true tours of the Park.  You will not see the Friends Fountain on my tour for example because it is in Hollywood.  Sorry.
  • Complimentary bottle of wine: This is available for advanced tours only of course.  Give me a couple clues about what you like and I’ll give you a bottle from my wine club.  Is it illegal to drink while on the tour?  Yes.  But I won’t tell anyone.
  •   Experience.  I have been riding a pedicab since 2004 and have concentrated on Park Tours since 2008.  I’m more likely to have read a book about the Park?  I’m less likely to swerve in front of a speeding taxi?
  • History degree/American accent: If you have a college degree, you both know it proves nothing but is the best of proof of everything.  Again, I’m more likely to have read a book about the Park then heard some ‘facts’  from a friend?  If you’ve traveled, you know that many people outside of the US have better English than most Americans.  But not all are easy to understand. Virtually all pedicab drivers in NYC are from Eastern Europe or West Africa.  Many are good guys with great English who have been here for years.  Others, just arrived. Some are hard to understand and know nothing. Call another number and you might end up with the first pedicab driver who is available.
  • Photography option.  For an additional $25 I can bring my semi-pro camera and get the best possible pictures of you on your tour.  Examples of my photography?  Every photo on this website.
  • Heated golf cart seats in the winter / 8 inch fan in the summer
